my kitten is the absolute cutest
For our six-month anniversary, boyfriend Jackson gave me an adorable, sweet, rowdy grey kitten named Nola. But Nola does more than just chase her tail & be cute (which she actually does a lot of); Nola likes to battle Tumblr for attention.
I could be focused on anything other than her or Tumblr: makeup, TV, lunch, or an art project; Nola will just curl up in a ball next to me and wait for her turn of attention. But Tumblr just hits a kitten nerve, I guess. She has tried all the old tricks when it comes to the takedown of “blue light attention-sucking devil.” The death wish began when she learned that walking on the keyboard meant tickle time for Nola. That phase ended when I began catching her and rolling her down to the other end of the sofa before she got a chance to make “that strange attention-sucking tapping noise” by herself. Not to be shot down so easily, she continued her battles with a series of techniques afterwards that included elbow biting, screen pouncing, and under-the-covers feet attacks all to no avail- every time that blasted Tumblr still beat her!
Recently, Nola tried climbing the wires hanging out from my laptop, perhaps in hopes of snatching the computer out from under me. However, at the time I had just finished with Tumblr and was in the process of turning off my laptop. To keep my kitty from getting electrocuted in the fight, I walked over to the extension cord where our internet was plugged in. Nola watched in amazement as I flipped the switch and the computer went blank.
Ever since that lousy mistake, now when I open a new Tumblr tab Nola doesn’t even bother finding a hiding spot near by with which to attack from. Instead she silently slithers over to the extension cord and next thing I know, my internet is out. Tumblr: 0; Kitty: 1.
